Mission Statement
The IAAI shall continue to serve as the global resource for those working in and associated with the fire, arson, and explosion investigation profession with respect to fire safety and prevention; arson investigation, determination, and prosecution; and fire loss claims and litigation.

The James LaBuhn Educational Scholarship
​​
The Michigan Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators has established the James LaBuhn annual educational scholarship grant program. Two Scholarship grants, each in the amount of $1000.00 are available each year. Each scholarship grant is to assist in paying tuition or other educational costs of individuals that intend to enter or in the fields of fire science, fire service, law enforcement, legal or insurance company. Recipients must be accepted into, or have applied for admission to an accredited institution. whether they are a vocational/technical school, a community college or four-year college/university.
