Tom Kropf was honored with the President’s Award by outgoing president Ryan Volz, who credited Tom as a key inspiration in his journey with the organization. From encouraging Ryan to get involved to supporting his path to the board, Tom’s impact has been both personal and profound.
Spl/Sgt Scott LeRoy is recognized as Arson Investigator of the Year for his thorough investigation in the 2007 fire death of Todd Stermer. His work held strong through a retrial nearly two decades later, playing a key role in securing justice once again.
Susan Zuiderveen and Jay Blair are honored as Prosecutors of the Year for their exceptional work in retrying the Linda Stermer case. Despite legal challenges, missing witnesses, and efforts to discredit the original investigation, they secured convictions for both arson and first-degree murder.
